Agassi has been staying with us for a whole day and a half.

Here is the tally of how many times he has pooped in our house…
(don’t worry property manager Kirsten, we cleaned it good. No harm done)

Wednesday – 1 time
Thursday – 2 times

If he can keep his tally lower than the US medal count…. he can live!!
(don’t worry owner of the pup Tracy, that was mostly sarcastic, I love the lil guy!)

::what it takes to be a champion::

I instantly fell in love with LoLo Jones when i was watching her run her hurdles the other day!! I love her story and was so excited to see her run in the woman’s 100m hurdles… one of THE most intense races in track!!

I was obviously devastated for her as she clipped the 9th hurdle and did not medal!

Her devastation was heartbreaking!! Especially the clip they got of her sobbing alone under the stands!

However… i was more then impressed with her interviews after the race!

She didn’t give any excuse…

“It’s the hurdles, if you can’t get over all 10, you can’t be the champion.”

But at the same time didn’t hide how painful it was…

“Today is hard, tomorrow is going to be harder, but what can you do but try again?”

I think that’s a quote of a champion!!

I am a big LoLo Jones fan!!! And I look forward to seeing her in 2012! =)

Anything you can do, I can do…

We have all heard this little phrase, or actually i think its a song, “Anything you can do I can do better.” I’m pretty sure the context of the song is pretty conceded and just trying to prove who is best, but i have been stuck on this thought as it relates to faith!

Jesus walking on water has always been one of my favorite stories but recently (actually most of this summer as God has really been challenging my faith) God gave me an interesting revelation as I compared the story in Matthews gospel to the story in Marks gospel! Matthew 14 tells the story we are most familiar with. Its tells about Jesus walking on the water and Peter walking on the water.

In Mark 6 however it reads different, It says a phrase that Matt. 14 doesn’t say.

47 Late that night, the disciples were in their boat in the middle of the lake, and Jesus was alone on land. 48
He saw that they were in serious trouble, rowing hard and struggling
against the wind and waves. About three o’clock in the morning Jesus came toward them, walking on the water. He intended to go past them, 49 but when they saw him walking on the water, they cried out in terror, thinking he was a ghost. 50 They were all terrified when they saw him.But Jesus spoke to them at once. “Don’t be afraid,” he said. “Take courage! I am here!

This phrase is what got me thinkin… cause it wasn’t until the disciples saw him walking on the water and started freaking out, panicking cause they thought he was a ghost that he stopped.

When I read this i instantly thought, “Wait, why did you want to walk right past them? Why weren’t you going to stop and help them?”

Could it be that Jesus intended to walk right by them to give them an opportunity to walk out a miracle for themselves? Because think about it, if Jesus intention was just to get across the sea, he could have just you know, popped on over to the other side and when the disciples got there he would have been there just waitin for them! But he intentionally walked on the water right by them.

I believe that at this point if the disciples, in seeing Jesus walking by them on the stormy waters, would have stepped out of the boat and followed him, they too would have walked on the water right behind him all the way to the other side of the sea and the storm wouldn’t have even been an issue! But instead they freaked and Jesus had to stop and calm them down and actually get in their boat with them.

In Matthew we see that Peter kinda catches on by asking if he can come out of the boat and walk on the water. But that wasn’t really out of faith… it was more out of an attitude of asking Jesus to prove himself. He says “Lord, if it is really you, tell me to come to you…” Which yeah takes some guts but his faith didn’t even get him all the way to Jesus… he starts sinking aka doubting right in the middle.

I don’t want the kind of faith that puts God to the test, nor do i want faith that makes him have to get into my boat. I want the faith that believes in who he is to the point where in the middle of my storm if I see my savior walking on top of it, my response is to jump out and follow him to safety! I want the faith that says, if you are doin it… I’m doin it!

Anything you can do… I can do!!

“We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us!!” Phil. 4:13

Be full of faith today! =)
